Modernisation of machine tools |

As a result of the fast technical progress in the field of machine tools, the control unit of a machine is out of date after a few years only. In contrast, the mechanics, especially of heavy machine tools, can serve its purpose for 30 years or even longer, provided that the wearing parts are regularly reconditioned resp. renewed. After a period of 15 years it is often difficult to get spare parts and service for the CNC control unit and servo drives. This often raises the question of purchasing a completely new machine or of renewing the control and drive unit with simultaneous general overhaul of the mechanics. Empirically, with the modernisation (retrofit) of major single machines 40 to 70% of the direct costs of a new acquisition can be saved. Since mid of the 80s, R&D modernises heavy machine tools, such as vertical boring and turning mills, center lathes, grinding machines, horizontal boring machines and milling machines.Our scope of delivery includes:§ Replacement of control units by our own CNC control units or Siemens SINUMERIK products§ Exchange of the complete electric equipment§ Mechanical and electrical overhaul of the machine§ Retrofitting from conventional to CNC operation§ Gear modifications, turning diameter increases etc.
